Hello, my name is Jim Humphrey I served in the RCN for nearly 30 years. I currently reside in Ladysmith BC but wanting to relocate back to Alberta. I was a Marine Engineer in the navy, upon retirement I developed a campground outside Lake Cowichan but circumstances have me seeking a new adventure. My plan is to buy a farm, ranch or acreage and start a Veterans Equestrian Therapy Centre where vets with or without their family can come and spend a few days working with the animals and de-stressing.
Wow, Jim, I love this dream you have! Alberta is certainly place to be to launch something like that (I might be biased, living in Calgary). Can’t wait to learn more as you develop this concept.

I live in rural Alberta, south of Calgary. This is truly an ideal province to begin an equestrian business. Take a look at the therapy programs that Canadian Legacy Project collaborates with. Their website is – https://www.canadianlegacy.org/
Hey Jim, nice to meet you. Circumstances aside, having developed a campground is a great knowledge baseline for venturing into other startups and businesses. It sounds like you have a great idea, as I think we need more service like those you want to provide, for veterans, and for civilians alike. Keep it up, can’t wait to see it unfold!
